Alex Vargas, AWI-CH
ATTORNEY-INVESTIGATOR
Alex Vargas is a California and New York-licensed attorney and a licensed private investigator who delved into the investigative world soon after graduating from law school. Working initially in securities fraud at a boutique investigation firm in Southern California, Alex relocated to New York City in 2011 to head up the litigation support practice group at a corporate intelligence firm. There, he managed a team conducting class action-related investigations on behalf of leading law firms around the country, and worked closely with the firm’s CEO to expand the practice. Alex was then recruited to build and run an in-house investigation department at an international litigation firm, where he served for nine years. In that role, Alex continued his work investigating multinational corporations in oftentimes headline-grabbing matters. His work contributed to nationwide settlements providing financial remuneration to aggrieved parties, and at times, requiring corporate defendants to implement policies designed to prevent further wrongdoing.
Having gained 15 years of investigative experience in the corporate litigation arena, Alex was motivated to broaden his areas of expertise in service of organizations seeking to competently manage workplace concerns. First, he obtained two professional credentials in workplace investigations from Cornell University’s prestigious School of Industry and Labor Relations. Alex then attended the nationally recognized Association of Workplace Investigator’s Training Institute, earning his distinction as an AWI Certificate Holder. Alex values the opportunity to advance more respectful and productive workplace environments, through this line of work.
Alex obtained his bachelor’s degree and law degree from the University of San Diego. When not serving clients, Alex devotes himself to causes associated with dementia, lupus, and family caregiving. He enjoys tennis, hiking, and moonlighting as a multi-instrumentalist.
